What are Sea Scouts?
Some
refer to us as "the best kept secret in Boy Scouts". Sea Scouts are
young men and women (ages 14 -20) who are interested in nautical skills
and other high adventure activities. You don't need any previous
experience with boats. We'll teach you everything you need to know. But
we do recomend that you know how to swim. Here are just a few of the
things
Sea Scouts like to do:
A youth leader called the Boatswain ("bo-sun") leads the Ship and is assisted by a Boatswain's Mate. The adult leader, equivalent to a Scoutmaster, is the "Skipper". He's assisted by several other adult officers called Mates who also serve as liaisons to the youth leaders. The youth and adult leaders work with the Ship's crew to plan activities, and to provide training.
